Starting with a Strategy
In an evolving digital landscape, Rightpoint sought to leverage AI to improve internal processes, specifically around setting yearly goals for employees. The goal-setting process was crucial for aligning individual career objectives with broader company goals, but it was time-consuming and often lacked personalization.
Rightpoint wanted a solution that could generate customized, data-driven annual goals for employees, reducing manual effort while maintaining strategic alignment. The challenge was to build an AI tool that could produce meaningful, tailored goals based on an individual’s experience and company-wide objectives.
To address this, Rightpoint developed Lycan, an AI-driven goal generation tool. The tool was conceived during an internal AI Hackathon, where teams were tasked with experimenting with AI solutions to solve practical business problems. Lycan was born out of the idea to streamline the process of creating annual goals for employees by using AI to generate personalized, relevant suggestions.
The process was simple: employees would fill out a brief bio about their work experience, focus areas, and career aspirations. Lycan would then analyze this input, pair it with company objectives and industry trends, and generate a set of relevant goals for the upcoming year. By using historical data and industry insights, the tool was designed to ensure that the goals were both achievable and aligned with the strategic direction of the company.
The application was designed to promote low risk experimentation by end users allowing them to modify any outputs of the application. This iterative approach ensured that Lycan could be trusted to deliver meaningful outputs while keeping human input at the forefront.
